The Joomla! Sites and Infrastructure Working Group is having its first general meeting on Friday, June 13, 2008 which will be held in conjunction with Joomla! Day Vancouver. The purpose of the meeting is discuss issues relating to moderating practices and member involvement in the Joomla! forums plus more.
Joomla! Day Vancouver begins at 9:00 AM on Saturday, June 14, and the Speakers attending the event include Chris Adams, Brad Baker, Levis Bisson, Michelle Bisson, Steve Burge, Louis Landry, Jennifer Marriott, and Toni Marie Swats.

The spanish Joomla community are holding a get together on Saturday, April 19th, 2008. The event will take place at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
The agenda for the day will cover the the following topics
- A presentation on the Joomla! project, community, and directions by Franck Scipion, event organizer.
- Practical tips and development examples using the Joomla! 1.5 framework and a discussion of multi-lingual support for Joomla 1.5 using JoomFish will be shared by Alex Kempkens, Joomla! Core Team member.
- The value of collaboration and cooperation will be the focus of Joomla! Core Team member Chris Davenport’s presentation. The project is working to encourage broader involvement given lessons learned from GHOP, GSoC, Bug Smashing and Doc Camp events, and even through use of simple tools, like Wikis.
- A round table discussion led by experienced Joomla! site developers with corporate, educational, event, eCommerce, and community-driven Web sites, will reveal helpful strategies and interesting case studies.
- Breakout sessions will cover diverse topics, such as installation, migration to Joomla! 1.5, SEO optimization, extension development, designing groups in Joomla! 1.5, security, and community support issues.

The French Joomla community have announced their second annual Joomla! Day which will take place on Sunday, April 27, 2008, in Paris.
Michelle Bisson, Joomla! Core Team Member will traveling from Quebec to the meeting to discuss the Joomla! project, working group roles and responsibilities, and how our international community has worked together in order to build Joomla! into one of the greatest open source content management systems in the world.

The Joomla community have announced the availability of Joomla! 1.5.2 [Woi]. The latest release is a maintenance update which addresses some minor bugs plus updates.
The updates include the following.
- Support for non-Gregorian date output
- Removed dependency on server locales for date output
- TCPDF Upgraded:
- Supports RTL languages
- Supports GIF images inline in generated PDF (if PHP extension GD2 is enabled)
- Fix for cache folder deletion with legacy mode enabled
- Disable page caching when debug is enabled
- Ability to disable Flash Uploader in Media Manager
- OpenID functionality fixes
- Advanced article filtering options now available using Article Preferences
API Changes:
- Addition of JFactory::getDate() to get a JDate object (supports overloading of JDate for non-Gregorian dates)
- Addition of JExit()
- JView::get() defers correctly to JObject::get()
