Joomla! has won an award at the UK Linuxworld for the 2nd time in two years. This is great news for one of the fastest growing open source content management systems on the net.

Joomla! 1.5 beta is now available for download after the core development team made the announcement of the new beta release on Friday 13th October 2006.

Version 1.5 has being completely redeveloped from the ground which includes some major changes in terms of coding and architecture offering a new API that allows developers to deliver more robust and innovative applications for the Joomla CMS.

The Beta 1.5 version is for testing only it is not to be used for production web sites until the community provide feedback.

Joomla! will be exhibiting at the UK LinuxWorld Conference and Expo.

The event will take place at the Olympia, London, 25-26 October.

This will be the first LinuxWorld where Joomla’s “next-generation” 1.5 framework will be officially on exhibit as a Beta release.  By coming to the show you will have the chance to meet key developers of the project, Johan Janssens and Louis Landry, and community members Mitchell Annabele and Waseem Sadiq.
